Vegeterian Tips: If the above fast food tips do not work for a fast food restaurant that you are at, then just get a meatless burger. Ask for a Big Mac or Whopper without the meat that is the bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, and mayonnaise.

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

  • 2 cups cooked kasha
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3 scallions
  • 3 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt or 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Oil for frying

Directions:

Place kasha and flour in a large bowl and squeeze the
mixture with your fingers until it holds shape. Add chopped
scallions and parsley to the mixture. Sprinkle in the sea
salt or soy sauce and work in with your hands. Form dough
into 2 inch diameter patties. Heat 1/2 inch oil in skillet
and fry patties over medium heat until brown on each side.
Drain on brown paper. To keep warm, place in 150 deg F oven
until ready to serve. Eat plain or dip in a tiny bit of
dijon mustard. I haven”t tried it, but I wonder how it
would be with a little mustard mixed right in with the
dough.
